Percepção sobre a Gestão Estratégica de Pessoas em uma Instituição de Ensino Superior Pública Federal

Abstract
In a globalized context in which the economic model requires dynamism and proactivity from the area of people management, the strategic management of people, in opposition to the mechanism faced in the past, becomes a catalyzing element. Therefore, aligning the phenomenon of strategic management of people with that of competencies, this study aims to verify if the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) presents strategic characteristics regarding the management of people, from the perception of the managers responsible for such area. Methodologically, this study is characterized as qualitative, and used the semi-structured interview with four managers of the area as a data collection method. It was found that UFSC presents actions related to the strategic management of people, but all interviewees stressed that there is still a need for evolution, highlighting the training activities already implemented in the institution and the central administration’s concern to move towards the strategic development of people.
