Abstract

The aim of this study was a comparative investigation of the effect of political dowry phenomenon on knowledge management strategies in the governmental and private organizations. The statistic community of the study was 971 managers of governmental and private organizations from Boushehr Province, Iran. Using the Cochran formula, the statistical sample volume, which included 276 people, was selected by the simple stochastic sampling. The research tool in this study was the questionnaire, and based on the Cronbach`s alfa, its reliability was calculated to be 0.94 for the knowledge management questionnaire and 0.87 for the political dowry questionnaire, and its validity on the basis of content validity was confirmed by the professional professor viewpoints. The SAS and SPSS software were used for analyzing the data obtained from the questionnaire. In order to determine the relation between the phenomenon of political dowry and knowledge management strategies, the structural equations were used. The results of the study showed that the phenomenon of political dowry had positive effect in respect of political aspect, and it had negative effect in respect of organizational aspect. Moreover, if the managers use more knowledge management strategies (man-oriented strategies or system-oriented strategies) in their organizations, they will be more influenced by the phenomenon. Therefore, the influence level has less effect on governmental organizations than private organizations.
