Abstract

The objective of this study was to compare the volition of task-oriented managers and relation-oriented managers with regard to their gender. The statistical population consisted of 385 managers (principals) from Ardebil city, of whom 196 individuals were selected as sample of the study using the random sampling method. The measures of this study included Lutans Questionnaire of Styles of Leadership with a reliability of 0.72, and Rohoti’s Volition Measurement Questionnaire with a reliability of 0.80. These questionnaires were completed by the managers within the sample. The gathered data was analyzed using the two-way ANOVA method. The results indicated that no difference exists between the volition of managers with different leadership styles. In addition, no difference was observed between the volition of female and male managers. Finally, there is no significant relation between gender and leadership style.
