Abstract
Exploring themes that articulate sexuality and violence in the narratives of Rubem Fonseca and Marcelo Mirisola, I argue in this article that they update the aesthetics of evil and horror in contemporary culture, narrative effects arising from different situations in which the characters go beyond the regulatory limits, even fragile, of the boundaries between the self and the other, involving violent and ambiguous relationships between subjectivities, bodies and sex. The horror gains visibility into the mix unshaped report, because the characters are weakly separated by the absence of synthesis that mark differences of gender, sex and culture. In the limit of this mixture, manifested in the narratives by short circuits in the interstices of the tension between the self and the other, generated by conflic among the characters, the violation appears as a lost of differences.
