Abstract

One of the most Ukrainian emigrant’s colonies in Europe in 1920–1930th was in Germany. The representatives of Ukrainian political parties and organizations on emigration competed for influence on the emigrants, using public organizations for this purpose. Ukrainian Nanional Association (UNO) was established in Germany 1933, and after-wards the leading members of Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) were elected to the management of asso-ciation. By the head of UNO a colonel Tymish Omelchenko was elected. He formally did not belong to no political par-ties or organization, but in the past was active participant of Ukrainaian revolution 1917–1921. T. Omelchenko succed-ed to convert UNO into powerful public organization and to prevent it’s split as a result of political struggle. Exept public activity Tymish Omelchenko was the well-known sportsman and zealous propagandist of physical culture and healthy way of life. His autobiographic essay “In a healthy body healthy spirit” that is published in this article, is ex-actly about it.
