A JOURNAL IN BURSA: VOICE OF WOMEN POETS IN NİLÜFER

Abstract
Nilüfer which is published from 1886 to 1891 is the first literature and art jaurnal in Bursa. Owner of the jaurnal is Feraizcizâde Mehmet Şâkir. In addition to articles about hard science religious and litarature articles had important place in jaurnal. Nilüfer jaurnal published from Western litarature translation, original Turkish writings to poems. Writers of jaurnal were not only from Bursa but also another cities of country. There were two woman poets in the jaurnal Nigar Hanım and Şaire Hanım. This paper states literature activities of Nilüfer jaurnal and two woman poet that had opportunity to make their voices heard. By this way role of local jaurnal in the city and county literature activities is determined. By translating poems of Nigar and Şaire Hanım to modern Turkish their places in the literatur world and their recognition as poet will be provided.
