A Method of Power System Static Stability Analysis
Journal Title: Acta Energetica - Year 2016, Vol 26, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper reports on a study of changes in a power system’s operating parameters under a rise in its load. The results of these and similar studies may lead to an expansion of current views on a grid’s stiffness, its stability and conditions for power swings development in the system. Power swings are often the beginnings of widespread system failures.

Starting Power Units in Cooperation with Renewable Energy Sources
The article presents the development trends in the electricity generation market. Attention is paid to the strongly developing renewable energy sources (RES). For example, results developed for the power sector in German...
Application of AHP Method for Comparing the Criteria Used in Lo-cating Wind Farms
The article presents a description and comparison of criteria used for choosing the location of a wind farm. The criteria include measurements of wind kinetic energy on a given location, location of wind turbines, locati...
Effect of dE-NOx techniques employed in thermal power plants on fly ash properties
Coal fly ash, a by-product of coal combustion in thermal power plants, is one of the most complex and abundant of anthropogenic materials. For several years, fly ash has predominantly been used as a substitute for materi...
Torrefaction as a Means to Increase the use of Solid Biomass for Power Generation and Heating
A technical constraint of the use of solid biomass in high power pulverized coal boilers is the clear divergence of physiochemical properties of this type of fuel compared to boiler coal. It implies coal units’ operating...
Comparison of Transmission Capacities of Two Regulation Systems: Lateral and in-phase Control Transformers
This paper presents a comparison of regulation capabilities of lateral and in-phase control transformers in a selected node of a power system. Their regulation capabilities are presented, as well as cross-system exchange...
