A Method of Power System Static Stability Analysis
Journal Title: Acta Energetica - Year 2016, Vol 26, Issue 1
Abstract
The paper reports on a study of changes in a power system’s operating parameters under a rise in its load. The results of these and similar studies may lead to an expansion of current views on a grid’s stiffness, its stability and conditions for power swings development in the system. Power swings are often the beginnings of widespread system failures.

Improving Power Quality in AC Supply Grids
This paper describes a digital and actual model of the UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner) integrated system for power quality improvement. The UPQC’s design and its connection to an AC supply grid, 1-phase and 3-ph...
Planning the Operation of a Hybrid Generation System in the Power System in a Multi-faceted Approach
The paper presents the results of a multi-criteria analysis of the cooperation of a hybrid generation system (HGS) with the power system. The analysed system consists of wind turbines, photovoltaic panels and an energy s...
Nuclear Co-generation: The Analysis of Technical Capabilities and Cost Estimates
This paper presents a concept of the parallel connection of a nuclear power plant fitted to provide heat for district heating application, with the CHP and heat plants existing in the supply region, in this case with the...
Autonomous Electrical Vehicles’ Charging Station
This paper presents a model of an autonomous electrical vehicles’ charging station. It consists of renewable energy sources: wind turbine system, photovoltaic cells, as well as an energy storage, load, and EV charging st...
Calculations of Short-Circuit Current Flows in Earth Wires of HV Lines
This paper presents a method which enables calculating flows of short-circuit currents in earth wires of high voltage transmission lines, and its implementation in the form of a computer programme. The algorithm enables...
