A new approach for efficient energy management for data centers

Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 6, Issue 3

Abstract

This research investigates energy management problems in data center. In the recent years, with growing and expanding the computational demands, there is enormous pressure for data center. Therefore, this subject makes some problems for data centers such as increasing energy costs overtaking server costs in data centers. Further, the global data center energy footprint is growing to be a significant burden on the world’s energy resources. The objectives of this study are to evaluate energy performance and find the causes of data center energy inefficiency and also address each form of inefficiency. To do this, we consider two categories of energy inefficiency includingidle resource energyconsumption, and support infrastructure energy consumption.
