A pedagogical approach to the environment and environmental education

Abstract
This paper suggests reflections and a pedagogical algorithm under to encourage changes in the citizens and students in relation to the environment. In order to achieve this we analyze the development and evolution of Environmental Education in Cuba from the critical situation of the environment at a global, regional and local levels with the use of theoretical and empirical methods, this allows the analysis and contextualization of the theoretical and methodological foundations with interrelation of the average student with the environment. Besides, it explains the need to include environmental education in the teaching learning process.
