A Petőfi rádiótól a Petőfi tévéig

Abstract

(From Petőfi radio chanel to the Petőfi Tv program) In the spring of 2015 the public television launched a new program for youths. The evening program of Channel m2 uses the name Petőfi TV in trying to attract young people watching less and less TV nowadays. With the aforesaid name, the Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) has been building the new television program clearly on the Radio Petőfi brand having become popular and fashionable among this age-group in the past years. The Petőfi brand has undergone a signifi cant transformation in the past decades. Since the 90’s several focus-group researches have examined the youths’ perception in connection with the mixed-programmed Radio Petőfi of that time. Based on the above, I have performed a focus-group research [5] that can be considered as a certain control examination. In the course of this my primary objective was to obtain information on how the young listeners perceived the changes having taken place in Radio Petőfi and how such perception has changed the image of the Petőfi Station. Based on the examination we can establish whether it was reasonable to suppose that by now Petőfi has become such an attractive brand that the new youth television program is also worth being connected to it.
