A Prospective Study of Analysis of Functional Outcome of Distal Tibial Fracture Treated by Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Plate
Journal Title: Journal of Bone and Joint Diseases - Year 2018, Vol 0, Issue 0
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the management of distal tibial fractures treated by plate osteosynthesis and assess their functional outcomes and complications. Materials & Methods: We included 25 patients (16 having AO43A type, 7 having AO43B type and 2 having AO43C type fracture) and all were treated with plating. Patients were regularly followed up at six weeks interval till union aer that 3 monthly for period of 1 year and evaluated clinically and radiologically with respect to partial and full weight bearing time, union time and functional outcome on the basis of AOFAS Score. Result: Mean age of patients was 42.24 years. Mean operative time was 77.80 and average time for union was 21.56+2.58 weeks whereas functional outcome was 95.76+2.90. Lesser complications in terms of implant irritation, ankle stiffness, and infection were seen with MIPPO.

A Prospective Comparative Study of Proximal Humerus Fractures Treated Conservatively Versus Open Reduction Internal Fixation with Locking Plate
Introduction: Proximal humerus fractures account 4-5% of all fracture and are not uncommon especially in older age groups. About 85% of fractures of proximal humerus are minimally displaced and are effectively treated by...

Same Segement Early Recurrence in Surgery of Lumbar Canal Stenosis – Role of Dissectomy
Background: Symptomatic lumbar canal stenosis (LCS) usually responds well to surgery. However, in a subset of patients symptoms recur aer variable periods of time. Aims: e aim of this study was to identify the subset of...
Long-term Functional Outcome in Fractures of the Lower End Radius in Young Adults Treated by Static External Fixator Autogenous Nonvascularized Fibula Graft Reconstruction
Background: Fractures of the distal end radius represent the most common upper extremity fracture. Many external fixation devices are described to achieve reduction and fixation of the fragments without loss of position...
Role of Ultrasound in the Management of Developmental Dysplasia of Hip with Pavlik Harness
Background: Ultrasonography has been accepted nowadays as a useful imaging modality in the early detection and monitoring treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip with the Pavlik harness. Graf’s method of angle ca...
