A Review article on Preventive Care -An Excellence of Siddha System of Medicine

Abstract

Siddha system of medicine is the most primitive among all medical system. This system was formulated and established about more than 25,000 yrs back by our “Siddhars”. Siddha system of medicine include not only curative medicines, it also includes prosperous preventive ailments, what we have to do & not to do. Nowadays we forget our traditional daily habits, so only we are inviting the diseases towards us. This paper includes the “Preventive Care” in Siddha system of medicine. The food and actions of a person should be in association with the nature of his body. The agreement of food means the taste, quality of food eaten and person’s ability to digest. We can protect ourselves from diseases by our actions of this birth. The good acts that prolong life are considered as ‘Preventions’ or Kaappu in Tamil. This paper is regarding what we eat, what we do, not to do, how we adhere to a good moral life according to our classic Siddha literatures.
