A Review of Current Challenges in Production Planning
Journal Title: Acta Technica Jaurinensis - Year 2015, Vol 8, Issue 1
Abstract
For manufacturing companies growing customer expectations, shortening product life cycles and increasing product variant numbers mean great challenges. Overcoming these is a major task for production planning, which is responsible for coordinating all business processes directly related to manufacturing. This paper presents important activities of production planning giving an integrative overview, and presents the digital factory concept with special attention to problems and their possible solutions. It concludes with challenges still waiting to be resolved and future development trends.

Power Semiconductor Trends in Electric Drive Systems
Nowadays lots of big brands (like Tesla, Nissan, Audi etc.) deal with electric cars and electric drive systems. The first brand deals with only electric drive systems and everyone know this name. These cars are more envi...
A Simple Case of Pallet Setup Features Based Order Picking Routing Optimization
Order picking is the most labour-intensive and costly activities in many warehouses by consuming ca. 55 % of the total operating expenses. Order picking development strategies mostly concentrate on warehouse layout, stor...
State Space Estimation for an Electromechanical Actuator Valve Using Extended Kalman Filter
This paper presents a state space estimation for an Electromechanical Actuator Valve using Extended Kalman Filter (EKF). A proposed actuator model includes a Tustin’s friction model with strong nonlinearities, hence it r...
Analysation of the Effect of the Contact Properties on Soil’s Penetration Resistance in Discrete Element Simulations
Cone penetration in-situ tests are commonly used to measure the cone index of the soils. This measurement process can be modelled very well with Discrete Element Method (DEM) if the parameters of the correct contact mode...
Rotational Motion Modelling for Numerical Analysis of Electric Machines
The paper presents a brief review of the movement modelling methods of electric machines and the two most common used torque calculation techniques. After the classification of single-layer moving band methods, a low com...
