A REVIEW - SUSTAINED RELEASE DRUG DELIVERY TECHNOLOGY

Abstract
All drug delivery systems, oral drug delivery remain the most preferred option for administration for various drugs. Sustained Release is also providing promising way to decrease the side effect of drug by preventing the fluctuation of the therapeutic concentration of the drug in the body. Sustained release system provides an advantages an extent that once daily dose is sufficient for the therapeutic role through constant plasma concentration which provides maximum utility of drug. This review describes the advantages, disadvantages, along with classification and polymers.
