A Short Review on Frictional Contact Stress Distribution in Involute Gears
Journal Title: Tribology in Industry - Year 2019, Vol 41, Issue 2
Abstract
In this paper, the gear contact evaluation models developed using various methods have been discussed. The new experimental and numerical methods have been presented. The research papers are classified into frictionless and frictional contact stress analysis and subdivided into experimental and finite element models. This paper will provide researchers with various information and huge literature data on the described subject. It serves as the rapid retrieval of data related to gear contact stress evaluation. Furthermore, a comprehensive discussion focusing on the customized experimental test rig (Gear Dynamic Stress Test Rig) has been done. Also, the finite element (FE) results showing the variation of contact stresses with and without friction, along the contact path has been shown. The FE results revealed that the contacting stresses between the gears increased significantly for different parallel axis gear, for a given coefficient of friction rise considered in the study.

Study of Wear and Friction of Al-Fe Metal Matrix Composite Produced by Liquid Metallurgical Method
A modified impeller mixing coupled with chill casting technique was used for the preparation of Al-Fe composite. The electrolytic grade iron powder of 300mesh size was dispersed in the melt of commercially pure aluminum....
Influence of Coating Chemical Composition and Thickness Layer on the Wear Behavior of Cutting Tools a Business Analytics Approach
The present work analyzed the effect of coating chemical composition and thickness layer over the wear behavior of cutting tools intended for the manufacture of steel molds for injection of various materials. A business...
Numerical Analyses of the Non-Newtonian Flow Performance and Thermal Effect on a Bearing Coated with a High Tin Content
The hydrodynamic bearings are stressed by severe workings conditions, such as speed, load, and the oil will be increasingly solicit by pressure and shear. The Newtonian behavior is far from being awarded in this case, th...
Influence of the Previous Preheating Temperature on the Static Coefficient of Friction with Lubrication
Experimental investigations static coefficient of friction in lubricated conditions and pre-heating of the sample pin at high temperatures is discussed in this paper. The static coefficient of friction was measured in th...
Effects of Velocity-Slip and Viscosity Variation in Squeeze Film Lubrication of Two Circular Plates
A generalized form of Reynolds equation for two symmetrical surfaces is taken by considering velocity-slip at the bearing surfaces. This equation is applied to study the effects of velocity-slip and viscosity variation f...
