Journal Title: Medpulse International Journal of Surgery - Year 2018, Vol 8, Issue 3

Abstract

Background: The use of intraoperative cholangiogram (IOC) during laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is well established. Aims and Objectives: To study role of intraoperative cholangiogram for detection of missed CBD Calculi. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study carried out in the department of Surgery at tertiary health care centre during the one year period i.e. March 2017 to March 2018 during the one year period there were 35 patients selected for cholecystectomy were selected for the study by written and explained consent all of them undergone all routine investigations along with intraoperative cholnagiogram and USG , looked for the missed any stone , found out such stones managed surgically. The diagnostic efficacy of the cholnagiogram and USG was analysed by Sensitivity and specificity calculated by Medcal software. Result: In our study we have seen that The majority of the patients were in the age group 40-50 were 34.29%, 40-50 were 25.71%, >60 were 20.00%, 40-50 were 25.71%, 20-30 were 5.71%. The majority of the patients were Female were 68.57% followed by Male were 31.43%. Sensitivity of Cholangiogram was 82.61%, Specificity was 91.67 %, Positive Likelihood Ratio- 9.91, Negative Likelihood Ratio-0.19, Accuracy was 85.71%.Conclusion: It can be concluded from our study that USG was superior as compared to introperative Cholangiogram with respect to high sensitivity and specificity for detection of missed CBD stones
