A STUDY OF THE RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF GREASES THICKENED BY LITHIUM 12-HYDROXYSTEARATE IN THE LINEAR AND NON-LINEAR VISCOELASTIC REGIME

Abstract
The effect of lithium thickener content on rheological properties of grease compounds in linear and non-linear viscoelastic regimes was investigated in this work. During the study, two oscillation tests were used: amplitude of strain sweep test, and frequency of strain sweep test. The amplitude sweep test allows one to assess the stability of the thickener microstructure in lithium grease in the linear and non-linear viscoelastic region under shear load at constant frequency and changeable strain amplitude. Sweep frequency tests are used mainly at low-frequency oscillation and constant strain to investigate the microstructure in the linear viscoelastic region. The study was carried out using a rotational rheometer, Physica Anton- -Paar MCR 101m, with cone and plate geometry.
