A Study On Correlation Between Urinary Hydroxyrpoline & Serum Alkaline Phosphatase Levels In Fracture Union

Abstract
BACKGROUND: Bone is a rigid framework made up of inorganic minerals and collagen. Providing of mechanical support, protecting of internal organs are the main functions in addition to reserve of ion exchange process in various physiological conditions. Various biomarkers are produced in the process of remodeling process of bone. Biomarkers are helpful the status of remodeling. The present study is to know the role of biomarkers in the process of remodeling. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was conducted in 2014 at Orthopedics department and Biochemistry departments of Gandhi Hospital, Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, TS. Sample size of 100 subjects was taken in the present study in the age group of 20-45 years. Informed consent was taken from both study and control groups. Caution was taken to include the subjects free from risk factors like smoking, alcohol etc, complete clinical examination, investigations were done for the study subjects. OBSERVATIONS: Changes in various biomarkers were estimated before, during and after 6 weeks of treatment. Biomarkers increased as the time advances during remodeling of bone.
