A traditional-learning time predictive approach for e-learning systems in challenging environments
Journal Title: EAI Endorsed Transactions on e-Learning - Year 2017, Vol 4, Issue 15
Abstract
The explosion of world-wide-web has offered people a large number of online courses, e-classes and e-schools. Such e-learning applications contain a wide variety of learning materials which can confuse the choices of learner to select. Although the area of recommender systems has made a significant progress over the last several years to address this problem, the issue remained fairly unexplored for challenging environments. This paper proposes an approach to predict traditional-learning times for recommender systems in such environments.

A survey of the benefits and issues arising from the deployment of physical artefacts in computer science teaching
This paper describes the introduction of the use of physical artefacts in the teaching of the curriculum in the Department of Computer Science at Middlesex University. The rationale for the change is discussed, together...
A few thoughts on the Flipped Classroom
There are many ways educators can enhance their curriculum and experiment with new pedagogical models to engage students. There have been numerous studies that have shown improvement as well as the potential for addi...
E-learning project assessment: A new approach through the analysis of learners’ posts on social media
E-learning assessment is a key aspect in the overall e-learning process. There are several parameters to consider during the assessment. In recent years, several sets of factors, called Critical Success Factors, have bee...
Automation of Algorithmic Tasks for Virtual Laboratories Based on Automata Theory.
In the work a description of an automata model of standard algorithm for constructing a correct solution of algorithmic tests is given. The described model allows a formal determination of the variant complexity of algor...
Toward the Ideal Signing Avatar
The paper discusses ongoing research on the effects of a signing avatar's modeling/rendering features on the perception of sign language animation. It reports a recent study that aimed to determine whether a character's...
