About state and perspectives of study Ukrainian surnames

Abstract
In the article was analyzed the basic directions of research Ukrainian surnames, visions of onomastic scientists for the history of formation and current state of anthroponomy. Also was identified the achievements of scientists in the study of ancient and modern Ukrainian surnames. Theoretical analysis of the works of anthroponyms allowed to highlight different linguistic problems and different approaches of the scientists to studied language units.
