Abstract
The article analyzes the current state of the execution and serving of sentences by convicts in penitentiary institutions, identifies the trends, causes and conditions that determine the commission of offenses by these individuals, and also develops some scientifically grounded ways to prevent these socially dangerous phenomena and processes.
