ABOUT THE ETYMOLOGY OF THE VERB “tep-”

Abstract

Etymology is one of the important fields of linguistics and it has its own methods. If you analyze a word according to etymology it is a must to look through a word in view of phonetics, morfology and semantics. The etymology of the verb tep- which is the topic on this research has not been explained enough in historical and comtemporary dictionaries. As a result of this work we tried to explain the etymology of this verb and its semantic development according to a new approach.
