Activity of the International Workshop on UNESCO World Heritage Monitoring in the Russian Federation and CIS Countries

Abstract
The article features the results of the International Workshop on UNESCO World Heritage Monitoring in the Russian Federation and the CIS Countries held on April 27th – 28th, 2017 at the premises of the Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve. The workshop was attended by over 40 representatives of World Heritage sites, research institutes, national agencies for the preservation of the World Cultural Heritage and ICOMOS experts from Russia, CIS countries and abroad. The international workshop has become a professional discussion platform for the exchange of experience in the field of monitoring of UNESCO World Heritage sites and the monuments from the preliminary list; monitoring of the condition of Bolgar Historical and Archaeological Complex and other cultural heritage sites in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan; preparation for the inclusion of new sites in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The final stage of the workshop was the establishment of the Association of World Heritage Experts of the CIS and Eastern Europe.
