Abstract
Elites take the top position of the power pyramid of the society. They control the social, political, psychological and economical resources which have crucial importance for individuals and the society. Political elites consist one of the most important elite group the political structure of the society. Deputies are one of the most fundamental elements of the political elite. Adana deputies, like those deputies who represent the other 81 provinces, form an integral part of the Turkish political elite. It was aimed to examine the sociological profiles of the Adana deputies.A historical perspective and used during the study. Turkish political elites who served in the Turkish Grand National Assembly since the beginning of the third millennium up to date accepted as research universe. Then, Adana MPs were selected as the sample group from the universe. Almost all parliaments in selected period having been examined according to particular characteristics, assembly by assembly and period by period.Documentary and historical research techniques were used to collect the data. An original data set was produced for analysis from the official publications and records and publications of the Turkish Grand National Assembly which is the main legislative organ in Turkey. The data set was analysed by using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences).Sociological and demographic background peculiarities (gender, age, educational level, types of education, occupation, marital status, number of election, family size) were used to realise the aims. Briefly, it was aimed to drive the sociological portrait of the Adana MPs by using these variables. ÖzetToplum içindeki pozisyonları, kontrol ettikleri toplumsal kaynaklar ve ellerinde bulundurdukları iktidar bakımından, toplumsal güç piramidinin en üst katmanlarını oluşturan elitler, birey ve toplum hayatı açısından hayati bir öneme haizdirler. Toplumsal yapı içinde çok sayıda elit grubu vardır. Bunlardan bazıları, öteki elit gruplarına kıyasla, karar verme sürecinde daha etkilidirler. Toplum ve bireyler açısından stratejik roller üstlenmiş olan siyasi elitler de, toplumun siyasi yapısı içindeki en güçlü elit gruplarındandır. Milletvekilleri ise, siyasi elitlerin en temel unsurlarından biridir.Bu araştırmanın amacı Adana milletvekillerini, tarih süreci içinde sosyolojik olarak incelemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda örneklem grubu olarak, Türk siyasi elitlerinin oluşturduğu araştırma evreninden, Üçüncü bin yılın başlangıcından günümüze geçen süreçte, Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi çatısı altında görev yapmış Adana milletvekilleri seçildi. Araştırma kapsamında, TBMM’nin kurumsal kayıtları ve yayınları, özellikle de meclis albümleri incelenerek, çok partili dönemde Adana milletvekilliği yapmış siyasi elitlerin toplumsal özgeçmişleri temelinde bir veri seti oluşturuldu. Bu veri seti SPSS kullanılarak analiz edildi.Oluşturulan veri seti yaş, cinsiyet, eğitim, mesleksel özgeçmiş, aile yapısı gibi toplumsal ve demografik faktörler temel alınarak, Adana milletvekillerinin sosyolojik profilleri analiz edildi. Bulgular Adana milletvekilleri arasında evli, 2-3 çocuklu, küçük aile yapısına sahip, üniversite mezunu, metropol şehirlerin üniversitelerinden mezun olmuş, yönetici-hukukçu-eğitimci, genç-orta yaşlı erkeklerin ağır bastığını ortaya koymaktadır.
