Abstract

Currently in the global field of sociology has been increasing interest in the problem of human ageing and of life in elderly and senile age, which is associated with increased life expectancy. Steady increase in the share of elderly in the whole population became an influential socio-demographic trend in all developed countries. The share of population over working age has increased over the last 20 years in Ukraine, from 17.2 % to 22.2 %. This process is due to two reasons. First, define the relative success of public health: taking control of a number of dangerous diseases, increase of level and quality of life tend to increase the average life expectancy of people. On the other hand, the process is a steady reduction in the birth rate below the level of simple replacement of generations, reduce the number of children born per woman over her entire reproductive period, leads to the fact that the level of natural mortality in our country has exceeded the birth rate. In terms of economic, political and social crises the older generation feels insecure and moral dissatisfaction. The problem of social adaptation of elderly people in postremoval period is the object of study of various sciences and is interdisciplinary. So this article is devoted to the study and aggregate theoretical, methodological and practical aspects of social adaptation of elderly people in the modern world. The main reason for social insecurity of the elderly, considered medical, social, pedagogical and psychological aspects forming a holistic mechanism of adaptation of the elderly to modern social conditions.
