Journal Title: Scientific Bulletin of Chełm – Section of Pedagogy - Year 2017, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to present a relationship between selected qualities of the temperament of 7-year-old children and their adaptation to a school environment. It is essential to recognize the factors of early school adaptation of children starting their education. The success of this process may have a decisive influence on the child’s whole life. An empirical study was conducted on a group of 7-year-old children who were subjected to assessment as regards qualities of their temperaments. The study consisted in parents and teachers describing the children’s temperaments. Subsequently, the obtained results were subjected to comparative analysis against the levels of their school adaptation. For this purpose there were employed EAS-C Temperament Questionnaires and Pupil Behaviour Sheets which are used to assess the level of children’s school adaptation.
