Adaptive Method Using Controlled Grid Deformation
Journal Title: INCAS BULLETIN - Year 2011, Vol 3, Issue 3
Abstract
The paper presents an adaptive method using the controlled grid deformation over an elastic, isotropic and continuous domain. The adaptive process is controlled with the principal strains and principal strain directions and uses the finite elements method. Numerical results are presented for several test cases.

Earth – Mars Similarity Criteria for Martian Vehicles
In order to select the most efficient kind of a martian exploring vehicle, the similarity criteria are deduced from the equilibrium movement in the terrestrial and martian conditions. Different invariants have been obtai...
An alternative flight control system for an unmanned aircraft whose flight control system fails during a longitudinal flight with constant forward velocity
In this paper we build up a flight control system for an unmanned aircraft whose flight control system fails during a longitudinal flight with constant forward velocity. This task is accomplished using only the system of...
SIMULAND - A CODE TO ANALYZE DYNAMIC EFFECTS DURING LANDING
The landing gear of an aircraft is part of the aircraft structure. It is the most critical part of the flight mission and also the component that will likely cause the most problems in the aircraft design. The landing ge...
Take-off and landing of aicraft
In this paper, the take-off and landing segments of an airplane trajectory are studied. The equations of motion for the ground run are derived and solved for distance. Then, specific formulas are obtained for the take-of...
Towards spacecraft applications of structural health monitoring
The first part of the paper presents recent developments in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM) with special attention on the piezoelectric wafer active sensors (PWAS) technologies utilizing guided waves (GW)...
