ADDITIONAL RESISTANCES OF MOVEMENT OF A SCRAPER PIPE CONVEYOR
Journal Title: Tribologia - Year 2010, Vol 231, Issue 3
Abstract
Scarper pipe conveyors can assure dust, water and even gas tightness, and their routes can be easily configured in horizontal and vertical planes. Because of their advantages, like simple construction and maintenance, silent operation, small crosswise section systems, the ability to transport materials in full isolation from the environment (also hot ones up to a temperature 700ºC), those conveyors have got wider application in aluminium-works, cement plants, coke plants, filters evacuation systems, and in the ceramic, chemical and primary industries. One of the real disadvantages of scraper pipe conveyors is the great resistance of movement and wear of pipes and scrapers. A very important problem of designing scraper pipe conveyors is the knowledge of their resistance to movement and drive power according to the parameters of construction and motion and also the type of handled materials. For the rational designing of those conveyors, it is essential to know the basic sources of the resistance of movement and the additional ones, which were subject of this paper. The results of these calculations allowed us to obtain the dependencies on additional resistance to the movement of the scraper pipe conveyor connected with the displacement of material on bends in the pipes, and also the resistance of conveyor loading. Dependencies on additional resistance to movement can be used during detailed calculations of scraper pipe conveyors, but also can be useful for cognitive and practical reasons.

ANALYSIS OF CONTACT STRESS AND BENDING STRESS OCCURING IN TOOTHS OF GEAR TRANSMISSION POWER SHIFTS
The study summarises the problems associated with contact stress and bending stress highlighted in the course of numerical tests of a power shift incorporating fourteen wheels, making up ten toothed pairs. The study inve...
THE EFFECT OF IRRADIATION WITH AN ELECTRON BEAM ON MECHANICAL, SCLEROMETRIC, AND TRIBOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF PTFE WITH A GRAPHITE ADDITIVE
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with a 15% graphite additive was subjected to irradiation using an electron beam of energy of 10 MeV in doses of 26, 52, 78, 104, and 156 kGy. The effect of electron beam irradiation on the...
THE COMPARATIVE ANALYSES OF THE INFLUENCE OF TANGENTIAL TRANSVERSE AND LONGITUDINAL VIBRATIONS ON FRICTION FORCE IN SLIDING MOTION
The original computational model for the analyses of the influence of tangential transverse vibrations of the foundation on friction force in sliding motion is presented in this paper. This model was implemented in a Mat...
ALGORYTHM FOR VARIABLE PSEUDOVISCOSITY COEFFICIENTS UNDER AN EXPERIMENTAL BASIS
Constitutive equations between stresses and deformations for oils with pseudo-viscosity properties are usually described by the Rivlin-Ericksen relations. In these relations two pseudo-viscosity coefficients occur. Up to...
