Adsorption performance study of pitch-based spherical activated carbon for several zymo-moleculars

Journal Title: Science Paper Online - Year 2009, Vol 4, Issue 9

Abstract

Adsorption behavior of beneficial molecular -amylase and pepsase from aqueous solutions onto pitch-based spherical activated carbon (PSAC) with different BET surface area and pore structure has been studied by UV spectrophotometer, and the correlation between the adsorption performance and pore structure has also been investigated. Results showed that PSAC has good adsorptive selectivity; the interactions among BET surface area, pore structure, and characteristic of adsorptive should be all considered in evaluating adsorption performance of PSAC.
