ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF E-TEXTBOOKS – TEACHERS’ PERSPECTIVE

Abstract
In this article the author focuses on features of e-textbook and on differences between products available on the market, called e-textbooks altogether. On this base a contemporary e-textbook is describing as useful and effective teaching materials. The main part of the article was devoted to analysis of chosen elements and features of the e-textbook as well as its advantages and disadvantages. In the present analysis the teachers point of view is crucial. In this context the following motifs were taken: type of the e-textbook, attractive way of convey educational contents, edition of the e-textbook, work in virtual environment, creating individual teaching materials, using the e-textbook in the context of the available computer equipment. In the author’s opinion evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of an e-textbook depended among others on the level of the technological progress of teachers. Simultaneously the author shows the gaps in the teacher education in the context of the using of new technologies in teaching and learning process<br/><br/>
