AGEING RESEARCH OF BARRIER MATERIALS

Abstract

In the paper research over influence of temperature and humidity on to surface resistance of barrier material has been shown. Those materials are composites consisting of polypropylene substrate in the form of nonwoven fabric coated with metallic layers. Metallic layers were made with pulls magnetron sputtering method with targets made of zinc-indium with composition by weight 80%Zn-20%In and titanium. Ageing research was made in climatic chamber type PL-1KPH. This chamber enables control of temperature with accuracy of ±0,4C and humidity with accuracy of ±2,5%. Composite materials were aged in two temperatures 23C and 40C, and relative humidity was changed from 20% to 90%. Surface resistance measurements were made with RLC bridge with 1 kHz frequency. Measurements were made after 24 hours from settling of parameters. It was found that for both composite materials value of surface resistance does not change up to 60% of relative humidity. For relative humidity over 60% increase of surface resistance value has been noted. It was found also that temperature has significant influence on the surface resistance value of composite material with 80%Zn-20%In layer.
