Air Defense Scheme of Airside MRT Vehicle Base in Shanghai Pudong International Airport

Abstract
Objective The air defense control mode for airside MRT(mass rapid transit system) vehicle base of the airport directly affects the airport air defense safety and vehicle maintenance efficiency. Incorporating Pudong International Airport MRT vehicle base into the airside control area causes problems like low maintenance efficiency and high air defense control pressure. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct in depth research on the air defense scheme of the airport airside MRT vehicle base. Method Relying on the opportunities for the airside MRT extension and renovation in Shanghai Pudong International Airport Phase IV Expansion Project,the different airside and landside defense schemes of the vehicle base are expounded, the advantages and disadvantages of the vehicle base under different air defense control modes are analyzed. On the premise of ensuring the safety of civil aviation, the vehicle base is incorporated into the landside to achieve refined and hierarchical control, and the concept of safe control area for MRT vehicle maintenance area is proposed. Key design points of the vehicle base safety protection under the airport air defense requirements is further reorganized, and the air defense and security inspection facilities suitable for rail transit vehicle base are proposed. Result & Conclusion The landside control mode takes into account both air defense safety and vehicle maintenance efficiency, but it also increases the scale of the vehicle base. According to the air defense control requirements, the landside vehicle base is divided into airside area, MRT vehicle maintenance area and office area, and a security checkpoint is set up between the first two areas.
