Abstract
Medzibodrozie is a territorial unit in the southern part of the Vychodoslovenska nizina (lowland). Ameliorative treatment significantly altered hydrological conditions of almost the whole territory. We can recognize natural (rivers, waterlogged periodically - flooded area, wetlands, river mounds, oxbow lakes, lake) and anthropogenic (material pit, dyke, irrigation and drainage canals, pumping stations, polders) aquatic elements in this territory. The aim of the present paper is to provide comprehensive analysis the aquatic elements in territory of Medzibodrozie. On the base of the field research, focusing on the analysis of spatial distribution of individual aquatic elements and analysis of satellite imagery, we characterize natural and anthropogenic created aquatic elements of the region in a comprehensive study.
