An Adhoc Sensor network with an Infrared Imaging System for Controlling Room air temperature in a large Auditorium building
Journal Title: International Journal of Research in Computer and Communication Technology - Year 2012, Vol 1, Issue 4
Abstract
This paper proposes an embedded wireless sensor network system for temperature control in a large auditorium. The objective is to save energy cost and reduce energy consumption. The room air temperature at various locations inside the auditorium will be controlled locally and the corresponding data will also be communicated to the system coordinator through a microcontroller based wireless communication system conforming to 802.15.4/ IEEE standards. The user will have an interface to access the current and past temperature readings in different parts of the auditorium. The coordinator will have an Ethernet interface and run a simple data web server. The main feature of the proposal is an infrared imaging system which will be detecting the intensity of human presence at various locations inside the auditorium. The system will have current and previous images and control the airconditioning devices optimally.
