An Embedded Modbus Compliant Interactive Operator Interface for a Variable Frequency Drive Using Rs 485
Journal Title: International Journal of Advanced Computer Science & Applications - Year 2015, Vol 6, Issue 11
Abstract
The paper proposes the architecture and software design of a Modbus Compliant Operator Interface Panel (MCOIP) for a high speed Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) – a state of the art embedded design that offers several key advantages over the existing proprietary industrial models in use today. The use of serial Modbus RTU communication over RS485 allows an economically feasible, open source, vendor neutral, feature laden, robust and safe operating model. Through the use of an ARM based RISC microcontroller, the low response time of the design makes the human machine interface more real-time and interactive.

Image Compression Techniques Using Modified high quality Multi wavelets
Over the past decade, the success of wavelets in solving many different problems has contributed to its unprecedented popularity. For best performance in image compression, wavelet transforms require filters that combine...
Conservative Noise Filters
Noisy training data have a huge negative impact on machine learning algorithms. Noise-filtering algorithms have been proposed to eliminate such noisy instances. In this work, we empirically show that the most popular noi...
Hybrid Geo-Location Routing Protocol for Indoor and Outdoor Positioning Applications
Internet of Things (IoT) essentially demands smart connectivity and contextual awareness of current networks with low power and cost effective wireless solutions. Routing is the backbone of the system controlling the flo...
Impact Propagation of Human Errors on Software Requirements Volatility
Requirements volatility (RV) is one of the key risk sources in software development and maintenance projects because of the frequent changes made to the software. Human faults and errors are major factors contributing to...
Evolutionary Approach to jointly resolve the Power and the Capacity Optimization problems in the multi-user OFDMA Systems
This paper deals with the problem of resources allo-cation in the downlink of the radio mobile systems. The allocation of resources is established in the context of multi-path effect and Doppler effect. These phenomena c...
