AN UNUSUAL CASE REPORT OF A RADICULAR CYST
Journal Title: IDA Ludhiana's Journal - Le Dentistry - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 3
Abstract
The radicular cyst is the most common inflammatory odontogenic cystic lesion of the jaws. Among the cysts affecting the jaws, about 65-70% are radicular cysts at the apex of the involved teeth. Radicular cysts are usually asymptomatic and increase in size slowly so they may remain undiagnosed until they reach a size that becomes clinically evident. It is impossible to diagnose a radicular cyst clinically. So, the definitive diagnosis of a radicular cyst is made evident through radiographic examination and histological examination of biopsy specimen. The cyst can occur in the periapical region of any teeth, at any age.We present a case of radicular cyst in 17 years old female patient, with brief review of literature and treatment.
