Analisa Karakteristik Teori Antrian pada Jaringan IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Menggunakan OPNET Modeler 14.5

Abstract

Telecommunications technology development growth rapidly, drive the telecom operators and vendors to provide safe, fast, and multi-purposed services, to encourage the creation of a diverse ecosystem of telecommunications services for the users.Next Generation Network (NGN) is a future technology that supports multiple integrated services such as voice, data, and multimedia. The main terms of NGN concept is a convergence and IP based services requiring a technology called IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). In order for data transmission in IMS services to be more effective and efficient it needed a proper queuing theory used as a regulator of data packets flow. This study observes some services on IMS networks using three different queuing theory, there are First in First out (FIFO), Priority Queuing (PQ), and Weighted - Fair Queuing (WFQ). Services that be used for this research are video conference and VoIP. From the simulation results, WFQ queuing theory on video conference services generate an average of 9.22 ms delay, delay variation 0.036 ms and packet loss 0.88%. As for VoIP services produce an average 144 ms of delay, delay variation 0.021 ms, packet loss 0.05%, and produce an average throughput of 7052 Mbps. So the appropriate queuing theory used in IMS networks in this study is WFQ
