ANALYSIS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT APPEAL BOARDS’ ACTIVITY IN MAŁOPOLSKA REGION IN THE YEARS 2010-2015
Journal Title: Annuals of the Administration and Law - Year 2016, Vol 2, Issue 0
Abstract
At present there function 49 Local Government Appeal Boards (LGAB) in Poland, including 3 in Malopolska (Lesser Poland) Region. They have legal control over local government units, they are independent in ruling and reveal the features of a pre court organ. The aim of the paper is the analysis of the functioning of the Local Government Appeal Boards in Małopolska in the years 2010-2015, with particular consideration of selected administrative arrangements. The research was based on the analysis of statistical data contained in annual reports and the analysis of selected indexes referring to the number of successfully handled cases. The number of cases considered in the years 2010-2015 by LGAB is considerable in Małopolska, and the issues regarding spatial planning and management continue to constitute a major percentage of administrative cases. The research shows, however, that the Act of March 27, 2003 on spatial planning and management which has been effective for many years as well as stable rulings have caused the number of these cases to be gradually decreasing.
