Analysis of roof bolting parameters to support inclined mine workings

Abstract

Objective of the paper is to analyze a state of border rock mass of inclined mine working with roof bolting and to determine rational roof bolting parameters in the deepening process in the context of k7 seam of Novodonetsk mine. Research methods. Roof bolting parameters for the inclined mine workings were substantiated while analyzing regularities of changes in behaviour and stress-strain state of rock mass and identifying displacements of rock contour of a mine working as well as determining rational values of anchor lengths and roof-bolting density based upon them. A finite-element method was applied to analyze changes in the behaviour and stress-strain state of border rock mass of inclined mine working with roof bolting. Scientific novelty. Graphs of dependences of roof rock border displacements and floor of inclined mine working on its depth in terms of anchor length and roof bolting density for mining and geological conditions of k7 seam in Novodonetska mine have been obtained. Practical relevance. Results of the studies may be used at a design stage to forecast displacements of a roof, a floor and walls of inclined mine workings under the conditions of k7 seam in Novodonetsk mine to optimize roof bolting parameters. Results. A method to analyze both stress-strain state of border rock mass of inclined mine workings with roof bolting has been substantiated. Calculation model to solve a problem concerning the determination of rational roof bolting density and anchor lengths to support inclined mine workings in the context of their depth changes has been developed. Rational parameters of roof bolting while supporting inclined mine workings under specific mining and geological conditions have been determined.
