ANALYSIS OF SHOCK WAVE CHARACTERISTICS OF EXPLOSION AGAINST VARIOUSLY SHAPED SHEILDS

Abstract

The paper presents the results of research conducted on a test bench to measure the shock wave characteristics of an explosion imposing a load on variously shaped shields. The experiment measured the run of the pressure of the free w ave and the reflected one imposing a load on the shields placed at different angles with respect to the base and distanced from the centre of the explosive charge at different distances. The study was conducted on the deflectors used in military vehicles, protecting the chassis and the body against the effects of an explosion. To measure the reflected wave pressure, sensors positioned in four places on each shield were used. The measured parameters were analysed in terms of the impact of the shock wave angle and the distance from the centre of detonation to the loaded place on their size.
