ANALYSIS OF THE SPATIAL VEGETATION COMPOSITION IN WOODLANDS IN THE SURROUNDINGS OF SESLAVTSI MONASTERY NEAR THE TOWN OF SOFIA IN TERMS OF THEIR RECREATION USE

Abstract
The investigation is aimed at establishing the specific role of forest vegetation in the scope of two open spaces in the region of Seslavtsi Monastery near Sofia and is a part of a broader research project financed by University of Forestry in Sofia, Bulgaria. The ability of forest stands to form spaces for recreation are analyzed. The emphasis is on the anthropogenic pressure, as well as some aspects of the year-round recreational use of the territory. The conclusions show that a little forestry interventions are needed to be achieved a positive aesthetic effect and increased the recreational potential of the forest landscapes.
