ANALYSIS OF THE STATE AND PROSPECTS OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE EXPORT POTENTIAL OF THE DAIRY INDUSTRY IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the article is the identification of opportunities for realizing the development of the export potential of the food industry, in particular the dairy industry of Ukraine in the conditions of globalization processes. Methodology of research. General scientific and special methods of research are used in the scientific research, in particular: the method of theoretical generalization – to clarify certain concepts; statistical analysis – to assess the dynamics of exports and imports of milk and dairy products, the method of export assessments – for SWOT analysis of the dairy industry of Ukraine. Results: It is established that Ukraine’s food industry is included in the basic sectors of the economy, which form the GDP of Ukraine, revenues to the budget and determine the level of employment and income of Ukrainians. It is determined that the most perspective in the food and processing sector is ready-to-eat food, including milk and dairy products. The results of the research on the development of the Ukrainian dairy industry, problems and tasks of its development, SWOT analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the industry, opportunities and threats of its development in the conditions of globalization are presented. The priority directions of development of export potential of the dairy industry of Ukraine are formed, in particular: food security; fixing current trading positions; diversification of sales markets; diversification of the product nomenclature; diversification of export entities. Originality. The approaches to realization of export potential of development of the food industry, in particular the dairy industry of Ukraine, are substantiated, which cause increase of its competitive positions in the domestic and foreign markets of food products. Practical value. The practical significance of the results of scientific research is determined by the possibility of using the formulated recommendations as when developing the strategy of development of the food industry of Ukraine as a whole, and at the level of a concrete enterprise.
