ANALYSIS OF THE WORK OF A SYNCHRONOUS MOTOR WITH AN ELECTROMAGNETIC SERIES EXCITATION

Abstract

The article presents a principle of the operation of a synchronous motor with an electromagnetic excitation and a series connection of the excitation winding with the armature winding. It is an analogous to the serial DC motor. As the serial synchronous motor we understand an electrical system including the motor, an inverter acting as the commutator, the excitation winding and a shaft position sensor that synchronizes a switching transistor inverter. The excitation winding is connected via inverter with the armature winding. The direct current which is equal to the active component of the motor current is passing by the excitation winding. Assuming that the angle between the flux vector and the current vector is constant, the electromagnetic torque is proportional to the square of the active component of the motor current.
