Ancient Schwannoma with Cyst Formation and Degenerative Changes in Sciatic Nerve: A Case Report

Abstract
Schwannomas of the sciatic nerve are rare and well-delineated tumors, excentrically located on the nerve. Ancient schwannomas can vary from firm, solid masses to fluctuant cysts. Here we present a case of 67 year old woman with swelling in thigh. Clinical diagnosis was misleading and was diagnosed as intermuscualr lipoma. Only with histology, the actual report of ancient schwanoma with cyst formation and degenerative changes , of sciatic nerve was given.
