Application of composite structures repair transmission lines and calculate resistance of structures against applied stress
Journal Title: International Research Journal of Applied and Basic Sciences - Year 2013, Vol 7, Issue 10
Abstract
Since there is a 22000 km gas pipelines in Iran, and their failure probability because of breakage, crack, corruption corrosion or explosion. Considering that any of the problems can result in disasters, renovation and repair of pipeline in great scales and short time will economically, technically and ecologically be prominent. Such issues for a vast country like repair, reinforce and cover the gas transmission pipelines. The recommended composite with the base of polymer is reinforced by glass and carbon fibers. This method is quite affordable ,economically and the bearing force and tension including external force , internal hydrostatic pressure due to soil weight and the traffic load resulting from the passage of vehicles is very resistant. In this paper we analyze the stress and strain of the composite layers and calculate the minimum thickness for this layer is considered. Some features of this method is efficient and maintenance will be examined .
