APPLICATION OF CORE STABILITY CONCEPT FOR REDUCTION IN WEAK CONNECTIONS OF BOIKINETICS CHAIN IN HOCKEY PLAYERS – PRELIMINARY REPORT

Journal Title: Medycyna Sportowa - Year 2012, Vol 28, Issue 1

Abstract

Sport needs a tool to evaluate motor control and improve its elements. The hypothesis was specified: three month exercises to strengthen local and global trunk stabilizers reduce weak connections’ numbers in biokinematics chain. Our aim was to determine Performance Matrix Tests’ suitability. It has been examined whether there is a correlation between weak connections and strengthening exercises’ application. Twelve-Polish and vice European Indoor and Field Hockey champions participated in research. Average age was 30.00±5.03, average training period was 20.83±5.65. Motor control was evaluated using Performance Matrix Tests. It was performed at beginning and after three months. Participants trained for three month.Basic statistical characteristics were defined for values before and after strengthening exercises. The hypotheses was verified: variance equality’ hypothesis and hypothesis checked the assumption that weak connections before have a higher value than weak connection after exercises. The correlation between weak connections’ values before and after exercise was defined, variance analysis for regression was established.1. Exercises trained for three months reduce weak links’ numbers. 2. Matrix Performance Tests proved to be an effective and easy tool for motor control evaluating. 3. We determined statistical correlation between exercises and weak links’ numbers in hockey players’ motor system.
