APPLICATION OF DESIGN POTENTIAL AND ITS COMPONENTS IN MANAGEMENT PROCESSES

Abstract
Purpose. The aim of the article is the development of a methodical approach to the application of components of project potential in the processes of project management. Research methods. The methodological basis of this study was the standards of the International Association for Project Management. The research was carried out in accordance with the methodology and logic of the system approach: the method of analysis and synthesis was used for structuring the solved tasks; data collection was carried out using a set of observation methods. Using the Excel package, experimental calculations were performed. Research results. The dynamics and process of forming the design potential is established. The methodical approach to the division of components of the design project potential into “weak” and “strong” is formulated, as well as the main directions of the use of the project potential (and its components) in the management processes throughout the life cycle of the project are described. The important property of the project potential, its dynamism during the life cycle of the project, is determined; and also the process of transition of the project potential into competence upon completion of the life cycle of the project is substantiated. Scientific novelty. The methodical approach for division of components of design potential into “weak” and “strong” is formulated. The theoretical basis of project management is expanded by developing a new category – the project potential at the project level. The dynamics and further transformation of the project potential at the project level integrates the project potential at different levels – the enterprises and the concrete project, which gives a more complete system model of this category – the design potential, is established. Practical value. The proposed developments can be used in project management processes in different fields, for example, to track “weak” components of project potential as risk factors throughout the life cycle of a project, which increases the efficiency of management processes.
