APPLICATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN MULTICULTURAL EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Abstract
Increasing multiculturality of the modern society and intensive development of the new technologies are without doubt two of the main tendencies that change most active educational environment today. The national strategic documents reflect tendency to modernisation of Bulgarian school education in the aspect of these tendencies and priorities. The principle of equal access to quality education is leading in Bulgarian national strategy for educational integration of children from ethnic minorities. It requires to give an account of different level of social integration of separate ethnic minorities in educational system and guaranteeing of balance between their integration and keeping and development of their specific cultural identity in the same time. Indisputably usage of information and communication technologies is one of the criteria for quality of education today. In the spirit of this treatment the access to computer-based learning and electronic educational resources is equal for all children and teachers should use effective information and communication technologies for keeping of cultural specifics in the school and the classrooms and for development of intercultural competence in the students as well. The main subject of the study is to reveal the special features of ICT application to education in multicultural environment. The aim is to reveal the specific difficulties, the two-way advantages and to ground the role of information and communication technologies for increasing of linguistic, communicative and intercultural competence of the students.
