SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT - KEY THESES IN SEARCH OF CHANGE

Abstract

The publication offers an analysis of key issues related to changing attitudes to reforming school and pre-school education by building a school community (pupils, parents, teachers and other school-related individuals and organizations) as a joint venture based on mutual agreement values. There are pointed main discussion topics/principles that the author identifies as a teacher (trainer) of teachers, parents and students. Initial positions have been defined, from which parents, pupils and teachers have to start building the school community as the only agents of change. The reform of the education system, according to the author, should not be limited to internal reforming the school as an institution, but necessarily going through the building of a school community. This is the way of empowering parents, students and teachers, in which the school community becomes a natural environment for ongoing reforms and validation of real learning, according to the best interests of the child.
