Applying of internet-technology “blog” in higher education

Abstract
The article is devoted to the necessity of updating of educational process at higher educational establishments by integrating of the latest Internet technologies in everyday study of students both academic and home. More attention is focused on such new aspect as web 2.0 technology, which is in constant development nowadays, “blog”, and “blogging” in particular. The article shows the raising annual statistics of creating and usage of blogs by users, most of whom are students. The main reasons of such popularity of blogs are named as interactivity, openness and availability of such kind of web site as blog for all the users of the Internet. Such kind of work as blogging is proposed to apply in order to maintain constant contact between a teacher and a student or between one or some academic groups of students as the main function of blog is communicative function. Due to comments, it is possible to improve written language, read and correct personal mistakes and mistakes of other group mates, receive feedbacks, share experience and gain new experience from other people from all over the world. The article defines the concepts “weblog” and “website”. It gives the brief history of the emergence of the notion “blog”. The main differences of blog from the usual site are included in the work. The author describes some known types of blogs that were considered previously by other scientists. Also the author pays attention to the classification of blogs according to their creators. The main features of blogging by the teacher, the individual student and the academic group are considered. The main advantages and disadvantages of using this type of Internet technologies are determined. Also it defines some famous web platforms for those who are interested in creating of their own blog. The name of the program given by the famous corporation in order to provide connection and communication between teachers from different parts of Ukraine is also named in the work.
